Rules for using a fire extinguisher

Read the information on the label on the fire extinguisher to find out which fires it is used for;

- a gas-powered extinguisher is used to extinguish all types of fires;

- a powder-powered extinguisher is used to extinguish fires in electrical appliances;

- a foam extinguisher is used to extinguish solids and flammable liquids;

- if the pressure gauge on the extinguisher is green, the extinguisher is ready for use;

- a characteristic sound is heard from the extinguisher during use;

- to use a fire extinguisher:

- break the plastic seal on it;

- remove the iron lock from the handle of the extinguisher;

- stand at a safe distance and point the barrel of the extinguisher directly at the flame;

- slowly squeeze the handle;

- completely extinguish the flame by moving the barrel up and down, left and right.
